I have advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  

I also have additional training in:​

  • teaching clients to use mindfulness skills

  • Working with anxiety disorders (Beck Institute) 

I hold a certificate in Person-Centred Art Therapy Skills and this enables me to work with art in a therapeutic way.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).  I am a member of their accredited Voluntary Register for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and am currently in the process of applying for individual accreditation.  As a member of the BACP I adhere to their ethical framework.

I hold professional membership of the Association for Contextual and Behavioural Science.

I hold relevant comprehensive insurance, and have an enhanced DBS check.

For my core professional training I obtained a first class honours degree specialising in CBT.  As continuing professional development I have a post graduate certificate from Exeter University and a post graduate diploma from Shefifeld University (ScHARR).

My interests include working with self-acceptance and compassion, the areas surrounding identity, life transitions and living with meaning in our lives.  I also have a special interest in working with anxiety disorders and low mood.  I have conducted research into the long-term effects of bullying and low self-esteem.

I have worked in the National Health Service, addiction clinics, for charitable organisations, within the transgender community and in universities.  I support adults and young people with a range of mental health issues, including tackling addictions, anxiety disorders, depression, stress and low self-esteem.  My experience includes delivering psycho-educational workshops on a range of common mental health conditions, teaching on a counselling training programme and facilitating a personal development group for trainee counsellors on a degree programme. My private practice is now my primary focus.
